Adam Page gives us his runner by runner preview for Saturday’s Schweppes Oaks at Morphetville racecourse. View his tips and selections.

1. Placement

Australia’s best maiden. Was very good in the Spring running in the the best three-year-old races for the fillies and placed on several occasions behind Brazilian Pulse and Dizlago. Bumped into Almindoro first up then took forever to wind up but eventually hit the line well last Saturday. On the quick back up and rising to 2008m, but she is very talented and is a great chance.

2. Serious Speed

Superstar of the future. Made people take notice with a dominant win in the Vanity before having no luck in the Australian Guineas. Then on Adelaide Cup day she powered home but just failed to get there. She is racing like she wants 2000m and beyond and is the clear horse to beat.

3. Lights Of Heaven

Three starts to date for three victories, the latest when she took out the Moonee Valley Classic last start. She wasn’t impressive in winning that race and the depth of class appears to be suspect from that race but she has the Nolen/Moody factor and that alone puts her in contention.

4. Precious Lorraine

Needed the run first up then appeared to have every chance last start behind Shylight when finishing fourth. She showed in the Spring she is capable of running a cheeky race but I’m prepared to risk her. She needs to find a couple of lengths.

5. Shylight

Gem ride by Bossy got her home last start when she scraped in to score. Can she repeat the dose here? The extra distance makes me believe she won’t.

6. Absolutely

This is the knockout horse. She is also a maiden but she has also contested some handy races including last start when she ran on hard and just failed to grab Shylight. The extra journey is well in her favour and the Rawiller/Kent combination is to be always respected. I rate her highly.

7. Sean Bail Mor

Weakened out of it last start after doing some work early. Not sure she has the talent to win, but with cover and a softer run, she can be a first four hope at best.

8. Jeter

Didn’t mind her run in the Kewney when she got a long way back and attacked the line. The 2008m is an unknown with her but she will be put to sleep from barrier one and if the pace is on, she’ll be running on at the end.

9. Count Your Fingers

Another Patinack runner. Ran an even race behind Lights Of Heaven last start when she grinded to the line. She’ll appreciate the rise in journey and she is the type of filly that can surprise with luck.

10. Oui Si Attitude

Handy filly when right but her recent form is not good. She looks tested.

11. Second Draw

Was always wide last start so I’ll forgive her for that. Her form prior was ok but she is a rough place hope only in this race.

12. Lalla Rookh

Dropped right out of it last start and I’ll be very surprised if she is the finish here.

13. Queen’s Fashion

Hit the line well at Bendigo last start but that was a Rating 68 race. She looks outclassed here.

14. Tureen

Finished 14 lengths behind them in the Auraria. No.

15. Little Blue Dress
Won a Colac maiden last start. Good luck to the connections as it will be a thrill to have a group one runner but it’ll be a Dandy Andy like feel if she wins.

Selections (Not in order): 1 Masthead, 2 Delago’s Lad, 3 Helmet, 6 Running Tall
